My garden won the Silver Award from FODE in 2003 in the Another Yard for the Don Program for being ecolocigally friendly and in June 2007 was certified by the Canadian Wildlife Federation for it's Backyard Habitat. It is a sunny and sandy environment. I have disconnected all downspouts and have a rainbarrel connected to a soaker hose to satisfy the water loving shrubs. Birds and butterflies are regular visitors with Monarchs and American Ladies breeding in my garden.
