Toronto has wonderful facilities for communing with nature. Bicycle trails and pathways join most of the river valleys and follow the Lake Ontario shoreline. Most neighbourhoods have convenient access to parks and ravines. Many of my photos were taken on outings with the Toronto Field Naturalists and with Friends of the Don East. The TFN organizes a variety of walks throughout the year with experienced leaders. For information and maps of the watersheds please visit the Lost Rivers Walks Website. I have divided the site into sections for easier navigation and have added a photo gallery with high resolution photos. More photos will be added as time permits. New pages include Wildlife in the Don Valley Brickworks and Birds in the Lower Don Valley, Centennial Park, Etobicoke Creek and Wilket Creek, and the Franklin Children's Garden on Toronto Island. New photos have been added to High Park and all of the pages in My Garden and I have added a new page for Life Cycle of the Monarch Butterfly. I have added a new page of Nature and Recreation Links.
My photos may be used for not-for-profit educational purposes if I am given credit for the photos and I would appreciate being advised where my photos are being used. I can provide higher resolution photos on request. I have uploaded some of my better high resolution bird and insect photos to Flickr. |
